FUN RUN TIME! “2011″
A really, really long 8.4km fun run. The Ports of Auckland Round the Bays has been an annual event in Auckland since 1972, I’ve participated in this event on four occasions, one time I remember fondly running as part of the FoodStuffs team with my dad. You can imagine all the food at the BBQ finish-line party, it was epic. But I can’t truly give an account on how I felt running at the time, what I can say is that I am proud to be able to brag about my past achievements, like a boss 
That alone is reason enough for me to want to do it again, only this time it would be cool to have a running buddy. Sadly, most of my neighbourhood friends smoke like chimneys. Another reason to run is the bay itself which is very pleasant this time of year…Panting and perspiring bodies aside of course.
8.4km – MARCH 13 2011 – 9:30AM
START on Quay St, between Tinley St and the Strand Overbridge (no public access via the Overbridge) FINISH at Vellenoweth Green, St Heliers Bay.
ADULTS: $15 / CHILDREN: $10
CHEAP SKATES: Pay to receive a registered certificate on completion of the run, or turn up for free and receive nothing, you happy go cheap skate you
